The Youth Summit conference programme has been designed to attract under-30 skilled professionals, students, teachers, and engineers, to address issues related to the acceleration of the adoption of renewables in day-to-day life.

The two hour summit, which will take place from 1500 - 1700hrs on 23 August, at Conference Room, Hall 12A, Pragati Maidan, will attract panelists from the Ministry and industry; climate change scholars; and renewable energy entrepeneurs.

The Youth Summit will address a range of topics - To heighten the growing significance of renewables in academics and the career opportunities that are emerging in this new sector.

The Youth Summit offers a forum that can deliberate on a range of issues:

  1. The shortage of skilled manpower to meet the industry demands of this sector;
  2. Innovation in applications as the only mode via which to tackle the problem of the high cost incurred in harnessing alternative energy.

India's vision 2020 is to cater for 20% of India's total energy needs through renewable energy. Since the generation of renewable energy is presently a commercially unviable proposition as compared to harnessing energy from more conventional fuels, the presence of the Indian youth for the Youth Summit is imperative. They are imperative to catalyze the renewable revolution, as they will be the innovators of tomorrow.
